Valentine – Oh L’Amour

Oh L'Amour

Inspiration for this page comes from today’s date (14th Feb) and Journal52’s weekly art journal page prompt, this week (#No7) is Valentines too.

I’ve used my Strathmore journal and using matt Modge Podge covered my spread with a printed postcard tissue paper from stash and then added a coat of thin white gesso over the top to knock back the printed images.

Next using a Barn Door Distress paint, covered the whole spread using a baby wipe instead of a paint brush as I like the uneven colour effect it gives, that and I don’t really like to see brush strokes.

Next using the brand new stamp set from Stampersanonymous by Tim Holtz called “Bird Crazy” stamped two from the set using Jet Black archival ink. Once  this was dry (used a heat tool) added home made texture paste through the TCW “Grunge Hearts” stencil around my pages.

After heat setting the paste (takes approx 5 mins) added “Cherry Pie” Dylusions spray (big mistake! got it all over my hands and it stains, eeek!) and allowed it to drip and dribble down my page.

Next, using some “Pantry White” acrylic paint from IndigoBlu stamped some circles around my page using the Limor Webber design “Limor Circles” again these stamps are from IndigoBlu. Then using pages from an old book, cut out three heart shapes and Modged them down. I then outlined them with a Stabilo All pencil (black) and using my water brush went around the outline. I then used some more Distress Paint and coloured the hearts and added my quote with black archival ink.

To finish off, I added some white to the birds eyes and some strategically placed white paint splatters.  I just adore these two love birds!

Happy Valentine’s Day!
