Journal52 – Elements

IMG_1584

This was an art journal page frought with disasters, I made so many mistakes in the creation of this page that it underwent quite a few different transformations. That’s the beauty of art journaling, the art takes over and does its own thing and you end up being the conduit and the hands that do the work the page is telling you to do. It’s a bit like being possessed!

This is WK26 for Journal 52.com and the prompt of “Elements” had to be that of Earth, Air, Fire & Water.

This is the last page in my current large Dylusions art journal. Time for a new one! The pages were created using a variety of acrylic paints, but mostly IndigoBlu English Cottage Artist Acrylics and Papermania (Docrafts) Artiste Acrylics. The Stamp set is a Tim Holtz design for Stampers Anonymous called “Worn Text”. The white pen is a Signo white gel pen, perfect for writing on painted surfaces.

Thanks for stopping by and have a creative day!

Journal52 – Silly Animals

IMG_4178Another art journal page using a prompt from Journal52.com, this time it’s WK24 and the prompt is “Silly Animals”. For this page I’ve cobbled together some royalty free images from some copyright free resource CDs that I have to put together my collage. I’ve tried to stick to a blue/green colour palette for this page with white and black accents.

If you’d like to see how the page was created and put together, please feel free to watch my process video below!

Art Journal Page – Rainy Day Fairy

IMG_3980

So I finally got around to playing with the photoshopped fairy image that I created last week. This page uses another of the faux Gelli prints I created using my silicone baking mat and some elements downloaded from royalty free sources on the wonderweb.

I now know that the Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists are about as useful as Dylusions sprays for permanence! That’s another thing to pop under the hat for next time! I can’t see myself using them again. I’ll probably pour them down the sink and re-use the spritzer bottles for something else!

By the time you read this I’ll be on a week’s break. I’m taking my parents, puppy and partner down to Cornwall for a week. We’ve hired a converted barn with plenty of running space for the puppy! He’ll need it! I need it! I’m really looking forward to very long walks on the beach and Cornish cream teas!

So without any further rambling from me, here’s the video. Don’t forget if you enjoy the process and want to see more, subscribe to my blog if you haven’t already or subscribe to my YouTube channel!

Enjoy and have a creative day

Journal52 – Outside In…

IMG_3903

We’re playing outside today, literally. I’ve been out in the garden as it’s a beautiful spring day, the sun is shining and there’s barely a cloud in the sky. So what do we do when we’re outside? Look for art journal inspiration.

Over at Journal52.com this week (WK19) Chelle suggests we get outside to art journal. It’s a great idea, but I can’t art journal without all my stash and I can’t really film anything either, so as a compromise, I went out with my camera and took some shots of things that caught my eye.

There’s some great things going on in my garden! Everything is springing into life! Including my imagination!

So, here’s my process video, as always I hope you enjoy it! Remember all my resources are listed and talked about in the video.
