Art Journal Page – Journey Together

Today’s art journal page is an exercise in using up some of my mounting ephemera from my ever growing collection. I decided to have a rummage through to see if I could put together a little bundle of items with a similar theme, then make an art journal page out of the bits I’d found.

I also decided to use up some of my Dylusions sprays which have been gathering dust for a few months!

I have filmed to process once again from start to finish if you’d like to see how the page came together, simply click the YouTube image below.

This is one of those pages that even after it’s complete I’ll have to keep looking at to see if I like it any better. I like it, but I’m not sure about the Dylusions spray colours, the melted chocolate is quite muddy and dark and I think dominates the page too much.

Art Journal Page – Not All Who Wander…

I wanted to create a fairly simple art journal page with texture and interest in the background, but that wasn’t too over powering or distracting. My focal points, the abstract trees, are simplistic but calming. The colour choice of blue and brown is a favourite combo and I think it all works well together.

As normal I have filmed the whole process of creation from start to finish and if you’d like to see how it was done then simply click the YouTube link below.

Mini Circle Art Journal Page – Yesterday

I recently held a workshop with my customers where we created our own mini (8″) circle journals and then spent a joyful afternoon decorating the front and back covers. My front and back designs can be seen below with a picture of the journal spread open.

This is the first page that I have created in the new 8″ circle journal. I like the smaller size as it makes you focus on your layouts more, but it also allows for a little more freedom with smaller focal points. I filmed the creation of the page as usual and it can be watched from start to finish by clicking the image below.YESTHUMB2

Steampunk Mixed Media Canvas – Industrial

IMG_4707I’ve recently got my hands on some new metallic paint colours from I couldn’t wait to get them home to test them out.

The new colours are just glorious! There’s a Kingfisher Blue, Pheasant Bronze and a Raven Black. All these colours just scream STEAMPUNK! and who am I to disappoint! To watch how I created the canvas from start to finish simply click the YouTube link below!
